Setting	What to enter
Tile width and length	Positive physical dimensions from the manufacturer.
Dimension unit	The unit of those stored numbers.
Pieces per box	A positive whole number for the sold box.
Box coverage	Optional manufacturer-published coverage, with its matching area unit.
Waste allowance	An allowance appropriate to the project; custom control depends on the plan.

A saved unit change does not convert the stored numeric values. If you change inches to centimetres, convert and update the numbers yourself before saving. Shopper-facing unit switching is separate: the calculator converts the shopper’s measurements for its calculation.

When valid manufacturer box coverage is supplied, the calculator uses it in preference to the dimensions-derived coverage. Without published coverage, it calculates the required pieces and rounds up to whole boxes using pieces per box. Review variants individually when their dimensions or box specifications differ; variant-level controls require the relevant plan.
